Anita Saarkessian

Anita Sarkeesian was born in Canada, but was raised in the US. She's worked as media critic since. She founded Feminist Frequency which provides commentary and videos on the representation of women in pop culture. Anita Sarkeesian is an award-winning Canadian-American feminist media critic and blogger. She is the creator and director-general of Feminist Frequency an educational not-for-profit website that explores representations of women in popular stories of culture. In her efforts to dispel the myths associated with women in pop culture, she works to highlight issues related to the targeted harassment of women and other marginalized classes of individuals in the internet space. Sarkeesian has a Master's degree in political and social thinking at York University. As a public speaker, she is well-known and has spoken at TEDxWomen XOXO and United Nations Broadband Working Group. Feminist Frequency was founded on the 9th of September 2009 by Sarkeesian, a University student who has been interested in issues that concern gender and feminism since a considerable period of period of. The ambitious lady planned to start a web-based series examining the gender roles in video games. She found herself the target of a harassment online campaign. But the assault did have been a hindrance, rather it was a boost to her determination as a feminist media critic. Numerous awards have been awarded to her in recognition of all of the contribution she has made. Anita Sarkeesian was a multi-award winning media journalist. She was also the founder and director of Feminist Frequency an educational non-profit organisation that studies pop culture gender representations.
