Julia Fiona Roberts was born in Atlanta on October 28, 1967 to Betty Lou Bredemus and Walter Grady Roberts. Julia Fona Roberts is the 4th generation Roberts living in Atlanta. Her father's passion for theatre was inherited by her. in theater from a young age. When he was studying at Emory University, he performed in several productions in Atlanta. When he was stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi, he was inducted into the airforce in the year 1953. Betty Lou Bredemus was part of the show as well. They married in 1955. Their baby son Eric Anthony, was born in 1956. Walter along with his wife quit their Air Force service in the year 1957, when they enrolled Walter at Tulane University. The family relocated in 1960 into Decatur Georgia where Walter began working at Atlanta's Academy Theater and the Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. Walter and Betty Lou produced a Saturday matinee local TV show for children known as Bum Bum and His Buddies in 1964. It was a venture that they funded themselves. In 1964, Walter and Betty Lou established the Actors and Writers Workshop. The workshop lasted 6 years. In the meantime, they had two more children Lelisa (called Lisa) Billingsley in the year 1965, and Julia (called Julie) in 1967.
