Mena Alexandra Suvari (born 13th February 1979) is an American actress, fashion designer and model. Her modeling career began in the year 1990, and then moved to acting after appearances as a guest on TV shows like Boy Meets World or High Incident. In 1997 she debuted as a film actress in Nowhere. Her roles in American Beauty, for which she earned the BAFTA Award nomination and American Pie made her the focus of a wider recognition. After that, she starred with Jason Biggs in Loser (2000) along with her American Pie co-star Jason Biggs and later played the main character in the comedy Sugar & Spice (2001). In 2002, she starred in Spun the independent drama and 2004's thriller Trauma. Also, she starred in HBO television drama Six Feet Under. The show aired in 2004. In 2008, Suvari was part of several films including Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh as well as the adaptation film to The Garden of Eden. Suvari models in Lancome Paris Adaptive and she has also appeared on a number of fashion blogs and magazines such as Vogue. Suvari is an activist and frequent supporter of African Medical and Research Foundation.
